How it Works

Your contribution in any one year will entitle you to receive a tax credit valued at 75% of your first $400 donated, 50% on the next $350, and 1/3 on any further donation.

The refund (or reduction in tax payable) depends only on the amount donated and not on taxable income. One only needs to file a tax return in order to receive it. The tax credits are as follows:

Contribution Limits

Each individual person who is either a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident can now make contributions as follows:

1) To a maximum of $1,500 per year to the National Party through the Conservative Fund Canada;
2) To a maximum of $1,500 per year to any combination of Conservative EDAs, candidates and nomination contestants.

Therefore, donors have two separate opportunities to make contributions to the Conservative cause: $1,500 to the National Party and $1,500 to local associations and campaigns.
